Use Case

The Registration Alert tool allows an administrator to set up opt in / opt out targeting groups which users can select from to receive different types of communications. (e.g. Sales, Marketing, IT, HR, Social etc). Registration Alert can also be used to set up targeting groups where Active Directory is not present or is not usefully set up.

Prerequisite

If you do not see this button when creating a new asset, you do not have a license supporting this feature. Please contact your SnapComms Sales Representative to arrange an upgrade to your license.
Also this User Guide makes references to Urgent and Emergency Alerts. This is an additional license feature that can be added to your license on request.

How it works

Registration Alerts enable you to ask your targeted audience questions. The responses provided by your audience categorizes them into groups created by the Registration Alert. The created groups enable you to target specific sections of your audience based on the response they provided.

It can be used to register an interest in an upcoming event, build distribution lists, or create an Opt in / Opt out distribution list which gives employees a choice whether to receive information or not.

You may add as many questions as you like, which can be any variation of the following three Question Types:

Multiple-choice

Your audience selects one answer out of a selection of options. Commonly this is what is referred to as a Radio Button option. They may only make one selection, but you can give them many options to select from

In the above example, the users may select either London, Tokyo or New York. Three groups will be created called London Office, Tokyo Office and New York Office. The response each user provides, places then into the appropriate group. There are no limits on how many response options you give your audience.

Multiple-selection

Your audience selects several answers out of a selection of options. Commonly this is what is referred to as a Tick Box option. They may make several selections and you can give them many options to select from

In the example above, the users may select multiple options from the provided selection of Sales News, Technical News, or Marketing News. Three groups will be created called Sales Magazine, Tech Magazine and Marketing Magazine. The response each user provides, places then into the appropriate group(s). There are no limits on how many response options you give your audience.

Free-form answer

Your audience enters free form text answers. There is no limit to what they place as an answer. Free-form questions are useful to gather comments or feedback. No group is created for Free-from answers, but you may view the text via the Registration Alert Drilldown report.

When you send a Registration Alert to your targeted audience, they (by default) receive a pop up in the bottom right hand side of their computer screen.

If they click on READ LATER, it will popup again if recurrence is set to do so, or they can read it later from their Message History area of their SnapComms Client.
If they click on READ NOW, or open it from their Message History area of their SnapComms Client, they will be presented with a Registration Alert Questionnaire.

Once the user has completed the form, they will be thanked for their response.

Once published, the groups you set in the Multiple-choice and Multiple-selection questions are automatically created within Users & Groups >> Groups. As your audience complete the Registration Alert, they are added as members to the relevant group. The groups can then be target with any asset.

The results are best reviewed in the Registration Alert Drilldown report.
