OVERVIEW
The Panic Button feature allows you to send emergency messages instantly from the SnapComms App using a hotkey combination. This is crucial in urgent situations where immediate action is needed. You can also use the Panic Button with a physical button (requires a configurable button that emulates a key combination)
PREREQUISITES
Requires Windows SnapComms App version 25.3.1 or later.
HOW TO SET UP A HOTKEY IN AN APP PROFILE
You can configure the Panic Button in the App Profile settings. Here's how to set up the hotkey that triggers an emergency message and the delay before it's sent:
- Hotkey combinations must start with one to three modifier keys (Ctrl, Alt, or Shift), followed by another key. Examples: Alt+C, Ctrl+Shift+P, and Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R.
HOW TO LINK AN EMERGENCY MESSAGE TO THE HOTKEY
When editing your Panic Button content, you can select a Default Emergency Message. This message will be sent when you trigger the hotkey.
Important: You can create multiple Panic Buttons, but the Default Emergency Message will only be published automatically if there is only one Panic Button published for the organization.
USING THE HOTKEY
When the SnapComms App is installed and an App Profile with the hotkey enabled is published, then hitting the hotkey combination on your Windows device will bring up the Panic Button and start the countdown to sent the Emergency Message.
