  • Panic Button hotkey support - The Panic Button feature now allows you to send emergency messages instantly from the SnapComms App using a hotkey combination. January 8th, 2025

New and enhanced features:

  • Improved the layout of ticker messages for better display on mobile devices.
  • You can now register multiple domains for your Content Manager portal's SSO.
  • Feed view is now enabled for the following templates: Emergency Creator, Emergency Code Red, Emergency Code Black.

Resolved issues:

  • Fixed an issue where the content's background was incorrectly set to "plain white" when switching between an organization image and an uploaded image.

  • Security Enhancement: Added reCAPTCHA to Content Manager.

Resolved issues:

  • [IT Communications - Planned Service Disruption Action Required] Template: Corrected the close button label to say "OK, got it".
  • Fixed an issue where pressing "enter" while editing a feed item within the Designer page would cause the item's theme styling to leak into the feed content.
  • Resolved an issue where unprivileged administrators could publish content targeted to the "whole organization" through advanced targeting by privileged administrators.

  • Improved the messaging shown when an organization does not have any organization templates created.
  • Fixed broken link - "Watch how to setup Organization Templates" in the Create Content screen.

May 20th, 2024

New and enhanced features:

  • New Window App Profile setting - "Disable Windows lock screen blurring"
    • This setting enables administrators to prevent their published lock screens from blurring when end users are on the sign-in screen, ensuring important messaging remains visible and readable to end users.
    • This setting can be found under the Lock Screen section within the Window App Profile settings.

    • Please note that this setting takes effect only on Windows apps version 24.5.562 or higher.

May 6th, 2024

New and enhanced features:

  • The rate limit for our public API has been increased. Please see Integration Through API Overview for the new rates.
  • Organization Template improvements
    • In the create content screen, a preview of the organization template is now shown.  
    • Templates can be sorted according to name or recent creation.


    • The template name column of the Publishing Statistics report now displays the organization template name rather than the name of the template it was originally created from.


    • The organization template editing screen can be accessed directly from the create content screen.

Resolved issues:

  • The text inside the "Read More" popup dialog within newsletters was not respecting the end user app zoom level settings. This issue has been resolved.
  • An issue occurred where administrators experienced difficulty signing in using Microsoft login if they had password expiry set in Content Manager. This issue has been resolved.

 

April 22nd, 2024

New and enhanced features:

  • Compliance templates have been unlocked to allow greater control over how the content is presented.

Resolved issues:

  • App Profile Ordering: Fixed a bug in the Content Manager that prevented correct ordering of app profiles.
  • Image Display on Mobile: Corrected an issue where images within text modules were being cut-off on mobile devices.
  • Anchor Tool: Resolved the issue where some headers were missing from the anchor tool.

  • Enabled Notification Dates and Times for all customers. You can set the Notification to occur at a different times to the Publish From and Publish Until dates and times. Learn More.

Resolved issues:

  • Resolved an issue on the Themes page where selected themes wouldn't properly deselect when changing the filter on the list.
  • Updated dependencies across all our services to enhance security.

March 11th, 2024

Resolved issues:

  • Previously, administrators could publish content even if they didn't have direct access to the target audience, as long as another administrator had set up the targeting. This capability has been removed.
  • SnapComms Public API: External ID is now treated as unique when publishing. This stops accidental duplicate requests creating multiple publishes of content.
  • The message on the license expiry warning banner has been updated to provide clearer guidance.

 

February 26th, 2024

New and enhanced features:

  • Administrators now have an extended 30-day window to log into the Content Manager after their license has expired. This provides ample time for our customers to renew their licenses while retaining access to SnapComms for message publication.

Resolved issues:

  • Fixed an issue where YouTube videos would occasionally have zero volume after being unmuted.
  • Addressed styling issues with Compliance templates that occurred when the in-app zoom level was set to a value higher than 100%.
  • Tickers published to Macs would stop scrolling after clicking on a headline containing a URL link. This issue has been resolved.

 

February 13th, 2024

New and enhanced features:

  • Admins are now able to share target sets they created with other admins in the organization. See here for more details.

Resolved issues:

  • Fixed an issue which prevented publishing of certain messages due to having incorrect target audience data. 
  • Fixed an issue where admins who are assigned the moderate permission indirectly from a role they have, are excluded from the list of moderators to optionally notify after publishing.
  • The Google Play logo has been updated in the Mobile Onboarding instructions PDF.
  • Fixed broken chart export button in reporting pages.
  • Fixed an issue where the ticker from "IT Communications - Unplanned Service Disruption" would partially display off screen.

New and enhanced features:

  • Admins who submitted content for moderation are now notified via email when moderators have reviewed their content.
  • You can now control how lock screens will size and fit on the devices they are published too. Settings can be accessed through "Summary panel (right side) > Lock Screen Settings > Screen Fit". (Not available for the legacy "Image Lock Screens")
  • The "Show results table after submission" option for questionnaires has been moved to the Responses section under the Quiz Settings tab for better visibility.

Resolved issues:

  • Fixed an issue where folders restored from the recycle bin are restored without their subfolders.
  • Resolved an intermittent issue where published videos would only play sound.
  • Fixed an issue where exporting a questionnaire summary with a large number of questions from the Reports page would timeout and fail.

  • Improvements to Moderation
    • Modernized the look and feel of the Moderation page
    • Added a new tile to the Dashboard, providing users with information on the number of items awaiting moderation in the queue.


  • You can now configure the notification suppression behaviors for Windows Apps using App Profiles.

Resolved issues:

  • Fixed a problem where users were unable to navigate to the mute/unmute button of an audio module using the keyboard's "tab" button.
  • Corrected the focus order for elements inside pop-up notifications.
  • Addressed an issue where checkboxes and radio buttons within questionnaires did not display visual focus indicators when focused.
  • Resolved an inconsistency in the appearance of tables created inside text modules between the designer page and the published version.
  • Fixed an issue where Organization Templates could not be accessed from the search page.
  • Rectified an occasional incorrect disabling of the save button inside the Content Manager's feedback submission form.
  • Improved error handling for cases where users with missing usernames are synced using SCIM.
  • Enhanced server handling for requests from Windows Apps that are not encoded with UTF-8, based on the default encoding of the OS. This prevents request failures in such scenarios.
  • Fixed an issue where admin permissions displayed within the Administrator page were being incorrectly shown.
  • Fixed an issue where special or non-English characters appeared broken in the targeting tab of the publishing summary dialog.

New and enhanced features:

  • Consolidation of app authentication settings
    • We consolidated various app authentication-related settings across different pages into the "App Authentication" page (App Management > App Authentication) to streamline accessibility and configuration in one centralized location.
    • The "SnapComms Mac and Mobile Access" section under the SSO Integration page (Management > Integrations > Single Sign-On) has been relocated to the App Authentication page.
    • The configuration switch, allowing the choice between SnapComms and SSO (SAML) authentication under the "Mac and Mobile Settings" page, has been moved to the App Authentication page.
  • UI Improvements
    • A loading indicator is now displayed when resources are being loaded in the image module sidebar.
    • The "Feedback" option within the Reaction and Feedback settings dialog is now disabled where applicable, with a tooltip provided for clarification.

Resolved issues:

  • An issue where publishing and modifying questionnaire content simultaneously across different browser sessions caused questions to disappear has been resolved.
  • Moderators can now see App Updates in the moderation queue even if they do not have full access to folders in their organization.
  • Fixed broken knowledge base article links in Content Manager.
  • Admins automatically created from signing in via Microsoft Integration were not being granted the default role selected under the Administrator Role page. This issue has been resolved.

New and enhanced features:

  • Gather feedback on the usefulness of your message from employees.
    In addition to our existing Reactions feature, you can now request Feedback from your employees regarding the usefulness of the published messages.

  • Feedback collection can be enabled from the "Reactions & Feedback" settings, located in the right-side summary panel. This feature is available for Desktop Alert, Video Alert and Newsletter channels.

    Recipients' responses can be viewed in the success report.
     
  • New administrator permission - "Manage Themes"
    Previously, the ability to manage organization themes was governed by an administrator permission called "Management and App Management sections," which granted access to various other functionalities. In this release, we have separated theme management and assigned it to its own permission - "Manage Themes."

 

November 14th, 2023 

New and enhanced features:

  • Italian has been added to the list of content languages.
  • The "What's New" button now directs you to our newly improved Knowledge Base.

Resolved issues:

  • The mute button of the audio module was not functioning correctly. This issue has been fixed.
  • The "Account is active" switch under the Edit Administrator page was not saving changes. This issue has been resolved.
  • In theme settings, if a font was uploaded and its family name clashes with a font from the default list of fonts provided, the uploaded font would override the other. This issue has been fixed, allowing both fonts to maintain their style.
  • There was an issue converting questionnaire messages into Organization Templates. This issue has been resolved.
  • Organizations on the legacy license package faced a temporary issue where they were unable to modify administrator permissions. This issue has been resolved.

  • Administrator role improvements
    • You can now set a default role for new administrators to inherit

    • You can now customize an admin's permissions after assigned a role to them. Choosing to customize will preset the admin's permissions with those of the current role and allow for editing. However, the admin will no longer be associated with the role

  • Folder access permission
    • You can now grant admins access to nested folders without having to grant access to their parent folders as well.

Resolved issues:

  • Fixed an issue where "Feed View" is hidden when Emergency or Urgent notification types are selected.
  • Fixed an issue where free-form responses for questionnaire are not displayed entirely in the Detailed Responses page.
  • Fixed an issue where unwanted whitespace is produced when the company logo inside the notification footer is expanded to 3/4 or full width.

 

October 16th, 2023

Resolved issues:

  • Corrected description of the "Admin Roles" feature in the Licensing Information page
  • Fixed an issue where admins could see Organization Templates that were located in folders they lacked access to, on the Create Content screen.
  • Resolved an issue that prevented custom fonts from being applied when the font family name contained a number surrounded by whitespace, such as "Frutiger LT Pro 47 Light Cn". For customers who were affected by this issue, please follow these steps to implement the fix:
    1. Re-upload the font file(s).
    2. Republish the message.

 

October 2nd, 2023

New and enhanced features:

  • The "Print" option for newsletters has been replaced with "Save as PNG" and "Save as PDF".
  • "Emergency Code Creator" Template: You can now customize the font style of the initial content.

New Template! Employee Engagement: Animated - Creator

  • You can now create and customize your own content which are similar to our existing suite of Employee Engagement Animated alerts.
  • This template can be found under Library > Human Resources > Employee Engagement.
  • This template is available to customers on the Engage license package.

Resolved issues:

  • Fixed an issue which allows administrators without the "Manage Organization Templates" permission to delete folders with organization templates inside.
  • Fixed an issue where re-ordering of questions inside an RSVP would sometimes not persist.
  • Fixed an issue where audio modules would not work inside Ticker alerts that are opened from mobile apps.
  • Fixed an issue preventing question images from being rendered in all appropriate places.
  • Fixed an issue preventing the overridden text for certain RSVP questions to display correctly.

 

September 18th, 2023

New and enhanced features:
Export to PDF (Newsletters)

  • "Export to PDF" no longer triggers the browser print window when exporting your newsletter.
  • The new export will produce a single-page PDF that fits your entire newsletter, as opposed to splitting your newsletter into multiple pages.
  • The original export button is now labeled "Print."

Resolved issues:

  • Fixed an issue where SMS provider settings weren't persisted on the first click.
  • Fixed an issue where the designer page became partially unresponsive when an incorrectly formatted date was provided.
  • Fixed the incorrect label for table export: "Export current fields" -> "Export current rows."
  • Fixed an issue in tables where columns containing version numbers were not sortable.
  • Fixed an issue where the folder popup menu displayed inside the right-side summary panel in the content designer page was truncated.
  • Fixed an issue where "Ticker with Message Window" template would not display correctly on Mac.

 

September 4th, 2023

New and enhanced features:

An image can be added to each question for better context and engagement. 
  • To add an image, click on a question and select "+Add image" from the sidebar.

RSVP question text can now be overridden.  
  • Click on the question text and modify it directly inline.
  • Please note that overridden question text will no longer automatically reflect the RSVP event name, nor be translated to the selected language under Display Settings.
  • To restore the original system provided question text, simply clear the overridden text.
 
 


Resolved issues:

  • Fixed an issue where the RSVP question text sometimes does not update after the event name has been changed.
  • Fixed an issue where inline editing of question text sometimes does not work when initial question text is empty.
  • In the previous release (August 21st), the templates - Wellbeing Tips Slideshow, Birthday Celebrations and Celebrating Success were incorrectly made available to everyone. This mistake has been corrected and the templates are now only available to organizations on the Engage package.

  • Text "Active shooter" has been removed from the default content of the Shelter in Place template.
       
  • RSVP and Registration Alert templates now also use the uplifted design and are opened up for better design customizability.
  • New admin permission: Manage Organization Templates. When this permission is disabled, admins will not be able to create, edit, move, delete organization templates.

Resolved issues:

  • Fixed an issue where the Data Source Attribute dropdown (under Users & Groups>Attributes>Add Attribute) would only should attributes collected by the default app profile. A consolidated list of attributes across all app profiles are now presented in the dropdown.
  • Fixed an issue where the snooze rule create button can be clicked multiple times to create multiple undesired copies.
  • Fixed an issue where the pop-up close button cannot be seen for the SnapComms Mobile App Launch template.
  • Fixed an issue where "Can publish" and "Can moderate" columns are available in the admin permissions table even when the organization does not have the Moderation feature enabled.
  • Fixed an issue where Azure Active Directory Integration details do not appear as having been configured.
  • Fixed an issue where Greek text would not render as expected during preview.

New and enhanced features:

  • You can now provide a URL instead of a VideoID as the source for Vimeo videos (Similar experience to Youtube)
  • Questionnaire Branching - "Next page" can be set for free-form questions to prevent re-merging of branches when pages only have a free-form question

Resolved issues:

  • Fixed an issue where the date of scheduled messages would display incorrectly from the dashboard's recently published list if the publisher's time zone is one that is currently in daylight saving.
  • Fixed an issue where disabling Azure AD authentication would not also disable "Enforce Authentication" option
  • Fixed an issue where tickers with badly formatted html (potentially from copy and pasting from bad sources) would become uneditable in the designer.

 

July 24th, 2023

New and enhanced features:

  • Removed excessive spacing between bulleted list items. Templates which have been updated are: Desktop Alert, Quiz, Survey, Ticker with Message Window, and Video Alert. This change will be rolled out to remaining templates incrementally in future releases. If there are particular templates that you wish to have this change applied sooner, please let us know by sending feedback through the Content Manager portal (blue light bulb button on the top right).

Resolved issues:

  • Fixed an issue where authenticated users on the Mac app could not receive content until they completed the sign-in process on their mobile device.
  • Fixed an issue where Microsoft stream video links do not work under certain share settings.
  • Fixed an issue which may have caused some users to not receive content.

  • Administrator roles
    • "Custom" role has been renamed to "None" to avoid confusion
    • In the administrator roles page, you can now select as many columns (roles) as you like to view on screen at once.
  • Accessibility
    • Alt text for company logo can now be preset from their themes
    • The language of content is now exposed for screen reader to detect (Set under Designer > Settings tab > Language field)
    • Corrected ordering of headers (h1, h2..) in emergency use case templates

  • Fixed an issue where audio modules could not be added to emergency templates
  • Fixed an issue where content would not be accessible after its theme had been deleted 
  • Fixed an issue where an admin's individual rights would not be remembered once they're assigned a role, then have it removed.
  • Fixed an issue where the reaction button would not appear in "Employee Engagement: New Employee Introduction" template.

 

June 26th, 2023

New and enhanced features:

  • On our May 29th 2023 release, we improved the customizability of design for the Desktop Alert template. This improvement has been rolled out to some of our other templates: Survey, Quiz, Ticker with Message Window, Video Alert.
  • Audio module - New option to loop the playback of sound, so that it can continuously be played while the message is open.

Resolved issues:

  • Audio module not immediately editable after having been added to content.
  • Corrected label for "Export to PDF" button.
  • Certain templates causing colors in the designer screen to be overridden incorrectly.
  • Incorrect background color detection for tickers.
  • Notification type not changeable for the "Employee Engagement: New Employee Introduction" template.
  • Content being vanished/removed when switching between different views (Content, Pop-up, Feed view..).

  • MS Stream videos hosted on your organization's SharePoint can be added to your content.

  • You can now create and assign roles to your administrators to manage their rights more effectively.
  • Functionality is currently in beta trial phase. If you would like to opt in, please reach out to our tech support team.

Better customizability of content design (Desktop Alert template)
  • Corner radius is now modifiable.
  • Thin, colored bar at the top is now modifiable and removeable.
  • Separator between body section and footer section is now modifiable and removable.
  • Background color of the title section is now modifiable.
  • Content can be added and removed from the footer section.
  • Customizability will be opened up to more templates in the following releases.

  • Fixed an accessibility issue in questionnaires where heading levels didn't follow standards.
  • Fixed an accessibility issue in questionnaires where required field were not announced as required.

Accessibility
  • To further our effort towards making Snapcomms more inclusive and comfortable to use GIFs (animated images) can now be paused by the users. The play/pause button is available for all apps on the Feed view, Pop-up and Content. Accessibility mode is not required.
  • When Accessibility mode is ON, the pause/play button is announced and can be interacted with by the screen reader.
Note: this only applies to image blocks. Images added to text through the text editor "Add image" button do not support play/pause.

  • To bring greater visibility for the content administrators, improvements have been made to how the current status of your content is displayed.

    Any content published with an immediate start time, the status will be displayed as Published.

    New Any content published with a one-off future date, the status will now be displayed as Scheduled. A new calendar icon will be displayed next to the status that can be hovered upon to show the selected publish date.

    New For any content published using the advanced Repeat Scheduling, the status will be displayed as Scheduled. A new repeat icon will be displayed next to the status that can be hovered upon to show when the occurrence date will be.

  • To improve the user experience, we now prevent multiple reset password emails from being generated and sent to administrators in a short timeframe.

    • Once pressed, the Resend Password button will be disabled until the email has been sent. There is a 5-second maximum delay.

    • Simply open the Survey, Quiz, or RSVP summary tab and click on the Export as... dropdown list and select Export as PDF.
      Each question will be listed on its own page to easily digest the data.

  • Resolved an issue that prevented the Last Updated field from showing data.
    Any updates made to the User Record after it is created the first time display the correct Date/Time.

User Management:

  • Managing your user records is now easier with the CSV import supporting updates of the following user fields:

Templates:

  • A change was made to the way questions are selected in questionnaires (Surveys, Quizzes, RSVP Invites). Questions can now directly be selected without selecting the questionnaire block first. This means fewer clicks and a more fluid questionnaire editing experience.

  • The Company logo in the footer of the Desktop Alert cannot be inadvertently removed anymore. The logo can be swapped for another logo or image if required.


Message Reports:

  • Reporting the success of your communications is easier when using visual graphs.
    You can now export the graphs within the Success Report by clicking on the Action menu and selecting Download as an image

Reporting:

  • See how your employees interact with your messages with Reactions. The reactions chart is now available in the new Content Reports when Reactions are enabled in the content.

Single Sign-On (SSO)

  • It is now possible to log into the SnapComms Content Manager directly from Identity Providers portals when SSO is enabled. If you already have SAML SSO set up in SnapComms, it's necessary to enable IdP-Initiated SSO by navigating to Management > Integrations > Single Sign-On (SSO) > Content Manager Administration.

 

Resolved Issues:

  • Resolved an issue that prevented the Emergency Alerts from being displayed over the Windows system Screensaver and Lock Screens.
    The Emergency Alert will no longer be suppressed.
