Measuring Success of a Ticker

OVERVIEW

Tickers allow a Content Administrator to send important headlines directly to employees’ desktops and mobile devices that have the SnapComms App installed. The information is displayed as a scrolling news feed across the bottom or top of an employee’s screen.

On mobile devices, headlines appear as a bulleted list and do not scroll.

TICKER SUCCESS CRITERIA

When creating a Ticker, use the Success criteria sidebar to choose what counts as a successful delivery. The selected criteria determines when a device is recorded as successful in the Success Report.

TICKERS

For a custom Ticker, Successful when headlines fully scroll is selected by default.

The following success criteria are available:

• Successful when ticker shown – The Ticker is marked as successful when it first appears on the employee’s screen.
• Successful when headlines fully scroll – The Ticker is marked as successful when all headlines have fully scrolled to the end of the Ticker.
• Successful when ticker interacted with – The Ticker is marked as successful when an employee clicks a headline link. This option is available only when the Ticker contains at least one clickable headline URL.
• Successful when ticker closed – The Ticker is marked as successful when the employee closes it. You can optionally require the Ticker to have been displayed for a minimum amount of time before it is counted as successful.

RSS TICKERS

RSS Tickers display headlines from an RSS feed. For an RSS Ticker, Successful when ticker shown is selected by default.

The following success criteria are available for RSS Tickers:

• Successful when ticker shown – The RSS Ticker is marked as successful when it first appears on the employee’s screen.
• Successful when ticker closed – The RSS Ticker is marked as successful when the employee closes it. You can optionally require the Ticker to have been displayed for a minimum amount of time before it is counted as successful.

Successful when headlines fully scroll and Successful when ticker interacted with are not available for RSS Tickers.

MOBILE DEVICES

Mobile Tickers do not scroll and cannot use the desktop close behaviour.

• When Successful when headlines fully scroll is selected for a custom Ticker, mobile devices use Successful when opened instead.
• When Successful when ticker closed is selected for a custom or RSS Ticker, mobile devices use Successful when opened instead. Any configured minimum display time does not apply on mobile devices.

SUCCESS REPORTING

The Success Report records an employee as successful only after the selected criteria has been met for their device. This lets you measure the outcome that is most meaningful for each Ticker.
